Number One In the CSRA — Top 2% in the Nation for Quality Care
Aiken Regional Medical Centers Named #1 In The Region for Treating Heart Attack, Heart Failure, and Pneumonia by State Healthcare OrganizationRated Top 2% in the Nation by HealthInsight, Based on CMS (Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services) Data. Aiken Regional Medical Centers’ focus on quality care has already begun to pay great dividends for residents of the region. In March 2007, the hospital was ranked as the top hospital in South Carolina for treatment of heart attack, heart failure and pneumonia by The Carolinas Center for Medical Excellence (CCME), an organization contracted by Medicare to help increase the quality of healthcare. CCME developed the rankings by analyzing data collected by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), an agency of the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services.
HealthInsight (www.healthinsight.org) ranks Aiken Regional among the Top 2 percent in the nation for the treatment of heart attack, heart failure and pneumonia, based on CMS data released in mid-2007.
“Several years ago, we began participating in a number of programs that were developed to improve the quality of care hospitals provide,” said K.D. Justyn, chief executive officer of Aiken Regional Medical Centers. “Everyone at the hospital is involved in these programs and we’re very proud that our efforts have brought us such recognition.”
