Aiken, SC—Aiken Regional Medical Centers is excited to announce the recent acquisition of Hitchcock Healthcare, an organization that provides physical and occupational rehabilitation therapy services to adults and children in Aiken County. 

This acquisition includes the two Hitchcock Healthcare Centers at 690 Medical Park Drive and 110 High Gate Loop Aiken, SC.

Hitchcock Healthcare has been the major provider of rehabilitation for adults and children for over 60 years.  I look forward to the great success that Hitchcock Healthcare will have in the partnership with ARMC,” said Harriett Wood, Executive Committee Board Member of Hitchcock Healthcare.

“ARMC will be taking a significant step towards expanding our physical rehabilitation services by partnering with Hitchcock Healthcare to further the continuum of care. We want to ensure that our community has the best options for care right here in Aiken County,” said Matt Merrifield, Chief Operating Officer at ARMC.

To continue expanding these therapy services, ARMC will be opening a 14-bed Inpatient Rehabilitation Center in the fall of this year. The unit will be designed to help patients rebuild their strength and endurance after a debilitating injury or illness. A rehabilitation physician (physiatrist) will provide supervised care. This new acquirement will help ARMC meet the needs for the new Center, as well as providing the best patient care.
